Challenge Almere-Amsterdam sees increasing number of entries – Limit of 750 participants Half Distance

After a very successful European Championship in 2014, it seems that the Challenge Almere-Amsterdam edition of 2015 will break records yet again! Last year, the organization was pleased to welcome over 2100 athletes in Almere, of which 1100 participants started at the half and full distances. Now, less then six months before the next Challenge Almere-Amsterdam, the number of athletes who have entered the race is already higher compared with last year. The full distance has 5% more entries right now compared with last year, and continues to grow like in the past two years. Surprising fact is that the half distance is immensely populair this year with 25% more entries compared with last year! Many athletes consider the half distance as a great preparation for their possible debut on the full distance in Almere the following year. This increase led to the decision of installing a limit of 750 participants on the half distance. Do you want to participate on the half distance of Challenge Almere-Amsterdam? “It is great that this oldest race of Europe is back in athletes’ minds again! The fast and flat course within the endless polders of Flevoland remains a race that everyone wants to have finished at least once”, according to Race Director Richard Belderok.
